Many air quality regulatory and litigation developments affecting oil and gas operations have arisen in recent months, and this Quick Teleconference will touch on several of the more important ones. The EPA has finalized new and revised Clean Air Act regulations for the oil and natural gas sector, including requirements for use of "reduced emissions completions" (RECs) for hydraulically fractured gas wells during flowback. This requirement and other new and revised rules will be reviewed, along with updates on: -the challenges of ozone standard (2008) implementation and likely consequences for permitting oil and gas facilities; and -source aggregation challenges to air permits for oil and gas facilities.
