Abstract

Missouri's constitutional voter referendum, the Missouri Stem Cell Research and Cures Initiative that appeared on the November 2006 ballot is presented. This article discusses the perceived conflict between science and religion and explains both ethical viewpoints in an effort to encourage respect and understanding in the stem cell research controversy.
