Description

This one-hour webinar is designed to help electric utility lawyers, (inside and outside counsel), advise clients on compliance with now, mandatory reliability standards that are administered by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), the North American Reliability Corporation (NERC), and the regional Reliability Entities (REs).

This video download program provides an overview of the audit and spot-check processes, the many tools available on NERC's and REs' websites, and practical ways for counsel to assist in the preparation for an audit. It also focuses on how counsel can help ensure utilities are "auditably compliant" with practical advice from the experts at NERC who oversee audits.

Our expert faculty discusses the pros and cons of counsel attendance at audits, attorney-client privilege issues, and the process for commenting on the draft audit report. Particular focus is on how issues can be addressed more effectively with early involvement of counsel.

Whether counsel members are involved in day-to-day compliance activities or higher level oversight, this program offers useful and practical tips on navigating NERC procedures and using the myriad of NERC tools, such as Compliance Audit Notices (CANs), that are now available.
