The Council and Accreditation Committee of the ABA Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar are recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as the accrediting agency for programs leading to the J.D. degree. The Law School Admission Council (LSAC) is a nonprofit corporation whose members are more than 200 law schools in the United States, Canada, and Australia. All law schools approved by the ABA are LSAC members.
