Description

The ethical responsibilities that arise out of the attorney-client relationship are at the core of any work an attorney performs for a client. Too often attorneys unknowingly make mistakes and end up on their states Naughty List (in disciplinary trouble). In order to stay on the Nice List and get the gift of retaining your license to practice, you must be constantly aware of your ethical obligations to your client. Our faculty will share real life experiences of professional responsibility dilemmas that cover the following issues:
  • Model Rule 1.6 - privilege and confidentiality issues

  • Model Rule 1.7-1.10 - conflicts of interest

  • Model Rule 8.3 - disclosure of violations

  • The slippery slope into disciplinary territory

This program provides practical guidance for lawyers to recognize and discharge their ethical responsibilities in difficult circumstances.
