For the past 20 years, half of all law school graduates have been women, yet 84% of partners are men. Women of color comprise just 3% of equity partners. Women are only 1/3 of tenured law professors, and only about 25% of the judicary are women.
Why is there such a disparity and what are the courts doing about it? What do the recent decisions in discrimination suits filed on behalf of women lawyers mean to the profession?
The panel provides you with an update on the case law concerning women in the legal profession, and discuss how new rules and regulations can be put into place within your practices that are proven to work to retain and promote women in the legal profession, such as flex scheduling, ways your firm should treat new moms, and ideas for how your practice can re-characterize the standards of success in order to promote more women in the legal environment.
