This audio CD-ROM provides an overview of special education law. Since the civil rights movement, there have been laws protecting the rights of students with disabilities. Today, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act of 2004 (IDEA) requires that school districts provide all individuals with disabilities, age 3 to 22, with a "free appropriate public education" (FAPE).
The program speakers include four nationally recognized experts in the field of special education law and practice. Each address fundamental IDEA topics, such as eligibility, the meaning of FAPE, and due process.
This audio CD-ROM includes full program audio and PDF course materials. Click here to view the system requirements for this CD-ROM.
