Our expert panel will discuss:- Drafting and implementing social media policies - this will cover the theme generally as well as in the context of cross border employment and the issues it is raising such as conduct and disciplinary procedures,
- Privacy challenges across borders - this will look at issues such as data protection in the EU and comparable protection in other jurisdictions, and confidentiality,
- understanding the role of works councils and unions in protecting employee rights to privacy and association - this will consider the extent to which third party employee representative bodies can become involved in agreeing social media policies and addressing these issues in the workplace as they arise,
- The role of social media in collective actions: Is there a third person at the collective bargaining table? - the session will also assess the developing position of the NLRB and trade unions generally in relation to this new area of practice.
