This webinar will educate attorneys on the fundamentals of forming and operating a tax-exempt healthcare organization such as a hospital, nursing home provider, or assisted living facility. The focus will be on requirements for obtaining and retaining federal tax-exempt status as well as other tax-related issues for healthcare organizations.
By participating in this webinar health law attorneys will:
- Gain a greater understanding of where you should focus when advising tax-exempt healthcare clients on tax matters
- Increase their knowledge of tax issues that impact their healthcare clients including federal tax-exempt status, unrelated business income, and post-issuance compliance associated with tax-exempt bonds
- Understand the current tax concerns that their client is facing, including the impact of the proposed regulations under IRC section 501(r)

The ABA will seek 1.5 hours of general CLE credit in 60-minute states and 1.8 hours of CLE credit in 50-minute states. Credit hours granted are subject to each state’s approval and credit rounding rules.
New York: This non-transitional CLE program is approved for experienced NY attorneys in accordance with the requirements of the New York State CLE Board for 1.5 New York CLE credits.
