About the Committee



The Committee considers matters relating to the development of international law through research and education, the development of the rule of law in dispute avoidance and the resolution of international disputes, other professional organizations concerned with international law, professional contacts between American and foreign lawyers and the availability of competent international legal services. The Committee also reviews and monitors the activities of agencies concerned with customs, tariffs, and trade matters, focusing on procedural problems as well as substantive issues. These agencies included the United States Customs Service, Department of the Treasury, the International Trade Commission, the International Trade Administration of the United States Department of Commerce, the Office of the United States Trade Representative and the Foreign Agricultural Service.
