Welcome to Division 7, the Division on Insurance, Surety and Liens, of the ABA Forum on the Construction Industry. The Division is very active, and welcomes your participation in its many activities. The Division 7 Steering Committee conducts monthly telephone conferences on the first Thursday of each month at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time. An Agenda and Minutes from the previous month's teleconference are circulated by e-mail prior to each call. Steering Committee members, Standing Subcommittee members, and other interested Division members participate in the calls, which include reports from Liaisons to the Forum Standing Committees and reports from the Division Subcommittee Chairs on the activities of their respective groups. On an every-other-month basis, the Division 7 Steering Committee opens its meetings to the entire membership of the Division and arranges for a speaker to make a presentation on a Hot Topic of current interest to the membership of the Division. These calls provide all Division members an opportunity to participate in the development of activities, publications and speaking opportunities within the Forum, and to network and develop relationships with other practitioners, professionals and academics from throughout North America. Division 7 recently began publishing a newsletter containing news, substantive articles and announcements that is delivered quarterly to all members of the Division via the Division's membership listserv. Division 7 also has a long and proud tradition of holding a Dinner for Division 7 members at every national meeting of the Forum (Fall, Midwinter and Annual) at a local restaurant, and in addition hosts a Breakfast Meeting for all members at every national meeting of the Forum with a presentation by a nationally prominent speaker on a timely topic or issue.
