Who We Are

The mission of the Government Affairs Practice Committee is to provide informational resources and a forum for the exchange of ideas regarding substantive areas of policy, political law and the regulation of the profession for federal, state and provincial lobbyists and government affairs practitioners, both in-house and in private practice.


Message From The Chair



Welcome to the Government Affairs Practice Committee page. I look forward to working with all of you to develop timely and informative content and provide a forum for the exchange of thoughts and ideas. This committee welcomes all practitioners who deal with government affairs in their practice, whether it be as in-house counsel, a private practitioner or as a government employee. This committee is an excellent resource for government affairs practitioners, and I encourage all members to become active and involved. Mark your calendars for the Spring Business Law Section meeting! The Spring Meeting will take place from April 6 - 8, 2017 in New Orleans, LA at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans. Our Committee will be meeting on Friday, April 7. Agenda, meeting time and call in instructions will be sent out a week or so before the call.

We will be sponsoring two programs at the Spring meeting. The first is entitled "Post-Election Analysis: New President; New Congress; What Does It Mean For Business Lawyers?," which will take place on Saturday, April 8 from 8:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. The second program is entitled “The Rise of the Sharing Economy: An Overview of the Legislative and Legal Challenges Companies Looking to Embrace the Sharing Economy Face,” which will take place on Saturday, April 8 from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
