About Us

Committee considers ethical and professionalism issues in the various Criminal Justice Section membership practice settings paying particular attention to right to counsel issues.

Goals

The goals of the Ethics, Gideon and Professionalism Committee are to advocate for the passage of the change in science resolution drafted by EGPC co-chair Lara Bazelon by the CJC and the HOD, to submit a comprehensive report on the forensics roundtables to the CJC, and to be part of the ABA's ongoing effort to ensure ensure just outcomes in cases--pretrial, trial, and post conviction--that involve the use of faulty forensic evidence.
