The Section holds over 200 hours of accredited CLE programs per year in a variety of different formats from in-person conferences and skills based trainings to teleconferences and break-out sessions at ABA meetings. The programs are practical, informative and on the cutting-edge of developing issues. Annual Trainings

13th Annual Spring Conference
April 13 - 16, 2011 Sheraton Downtown Denver, CO
The Spring Conference is held in April of each year. It is the largest conference for dispute resolution professionals in the world, typically drawing 1,000 or more attendees. Attendees can choose from over 100 CLE programs designed to enhance their skills as advocates, mediators, arbitrators, negotiators, court ADR specialists and educators. Programs cover the spectrum of ADR practice and theory, from building and marketing a practice, to enhancing communications skills, to the most recent developments in the law of arbitration and mediation. In addition, the conference provides great face-to-face networking events to build your professional network with ADR professionals from across the U.S. and around the globe.

6th Annual Arbitration Training Institute

The Institute offers three-days of immersion into the nuts and bolts of being a successful arbitrator. The program is a must for practitioners seeking detailed treatment on the arbitration process and the role of the arbitrator. The curriculum includes segments on arbitration agreements, ethics, pre-hearing conferences, discovery, motions, hearings, and awards.

9th Annual Advanced Mediation & Advocacy Skills Institute
San Diego, October 2011
This interactive two-day training is for advocates and mediators looking to take their career to the next level. The curriculum covers each phase of the mediation process and includes small group discussions in which participants can discuss specific issues and fine-tune skills.
