Dear Friends:
It is my pleasure to invite you to our 11th Annual Spring Conference. The theme this year is ADR: Building Bridges to a Better Society.
Any engineer will tell you that building a bridge is no easy task. Perhaps more challenging than physically building the bridge is first believing in the idea that you can get from here to there?across the divide. That you can cross the water or the chasm safely. As neutrals, we are the engineers and architects of the field; we build the bridges. As attorneys, we are responsible for leading our clients to the most advantageous bridges and then getting them safely across. As proponents of alternative methods of dispute resolution?both attorneys and neutrals?it is our duty to remind consumers that different processes can take you to different places. Consumers have important options, but only if they have the education and the guidance from counselors to know how to choose properly and utilize resources effectively.
I am certain you will find programs to broaden your knowledge, sharpen your skills, and enhance your approach. The conference committee has worked diligently to bring you the best and largest ADR conference in the world. Don?t miss it! And, keep building bridges?stronger, wider and to more places!
