Message From The Chair

Welcome to the ABA Solo, Small Firm and General Practice Division's Diversity Board webpage.

The ABA Solo, Small Firm and General Practice Division believes that inclusion, participation, and involvement of attorneys from underrepresented groups in the Division’s programs and activities is essential to the operation of the Division. Thus the Diversity Board strives to foster a culture where all members of the Division are respected, valued, supported, and included in opportunities to contribute to programmatic activities, governance matters, and all other areas of Division membership.

We encourage all members to reach out to attorneys of diverse groups to become members of the Division, and to connect those attorneys to the countless opportunities within the Division. Likewise, it is incumbent upon attorneys who represent members of underrepresented groups to answer the call to service and to avail themselves of opportunities within the Division.

About Us

The Diversity Board shall oversee all programs and activities that impact diversity efforts. The Board shall participate and coordinate with ABA committees and entities that promote diversity, as well as be responsible for the Diversity Fellowship Program.

Diversity Fellowship Program

Call for Diversity Fellowship Applications - 2015/2016

We are pleased to announce the sponsorship of four Diversity Fellowships in the Division during the 2015-2016 bar year. The program is designed to promote diversity within the Division and the ABA, while providing leadership development opportunities within the Division for women, attorneys of color, and those with disabilities and persons of differing sexual orientations and gender identities.

Applications and nominations must be received by March 31, 2015.
