Who We Are



The focus of this committee's work is the expanding field of alternative dispute resolution, including labor and employment arbitration and mediation.

The committee meets twice a year, at a midwinter meeting (generally in February) and at the ABA Annual Meeting. Meeting programs include current and topical panel discussions, speakers, papers and subcommittee reports. The subcommittees are: ADR Advocacy; Book Publication; Newsletter; Membership; Professional Responsibility; and Publication of Arbitration Awards.

The committee has published Discipline and Discharge in Arbitration, How ADR Works, Labor Arbitration: Cases and Materials for Advocates, Labor Arbitration: A Practical Guide for Advocates, Labor Arbitrator Development: A Handbook, Elkouri & Elkouri: How Arbitration Works.
