Compliance with the Executive Branch’s Gift Rules

The gift rules have been updated this year but are still not always readily understood. Our moderator and panel of experts shall discuss the following:

•        Taxonomy of restrictions (bribery, gratuities, OGE regulations, etc.)
•        Overview of gift regulations with emphasis on recent changes
•        Detailed explanation of the most relevant/misunderstood gift
         exceptions/exclusions
•        Discussion of best practices for gift policies and procedures
•        Ideas for collaboration between contractors and ethics officials
•        Examples of common gift issues and how to resolve them

Time permitting, we also will have a roundtable discussion of hot ethical topics.

* Cheri Cannon, managing Partner of the DC office of Tully Rinckey and former Deputy General Counsel for Fiscal, Ethics and Administrative Law for the US Air Force

* Brian Klimek, Associate General Counsel, Ethics Counselor, Office of the General Counsel Fiscal, Ethics and Administrative Law Headquarters, USAF

* Lynn Wise, Corporate Counsel, Northrop Grumman Corporation and retired Colonel U.S. Army

Moderator: Keith Szeliga, Partner, Sheppard Mullin. Mr. Szeliga represents clients ranging from small businesses to the nation's largest defense contractors in a broad range of Government contracts matters, including bid protests, compliance reviews and counseling, mergers and acquisitions, audits and investigations, and claims and appeals.
