To provide timely information to the legal community on developments involving cybersecurity, privacy, and data protection in the context of government contracting; to monitor, review, and comment on developments in these areas as they relate to government contracting and associated activities; and to propose best practices and practical solutions to legal and contractual challenges associated with government contracting in these areas.

Interim DFARS Rule “Network Penetration Reporting and Contracting for Cloud Services” - Discussion of Content and Possible Comments

On August 26, DoD published an Interim Rule implementing network penetration reporting requirements under Sec. 941 of the 2013 NDAA and Sec. 1632 of the 2015 NDAA. The Interim Rule also implements DoD policies and procedures to use when contracting for cloud computing services. Comments on the Interim Rule are due October 26, 2015.

We will have a substantive discussion of the Interim Rule and will be seeking volunteers to assist with Committee comments.
