Focus: The committee focuses on (i) life insurance and other insurance issues including: disability, long-term care, health, property, and casualty, and (ii) financial and wealth planning.
Education: The committee endeavors to educate lawyers concerning each type of insurance as well as on financial products and concepts as they relate to estate planning and trust administration.
CLE Programs: The committee frequently participates in programs at the Section's Spring Meeting and CLE Symposium and the Joint Fall CLE Meeting (with the Tax and RPTE Sections).
- A major project of the committee has been the initiation of the "Insurance Counselor" series, primers on various insurance topics.
- Other projects include preparation of a standard form for the assignment of life insurance policies to Irrevocable Trusts.
