Committee Description



The Intellectual Property Committee’s focus is on trademark, copyright, trade secrets, the internet, and related unfair competition cases. The wide scope of this committee runs from technical products to artistic works. Though focusing on federal law, it also touches upon state law and international concerns.

Message from the Chair

Greetings from the Intellectual Property Law Committee of the Young Lawyers Division. If you are a young lawyer whose practice involves an area of intellectual property, such as patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets or the litigation thereof, or you are interested in such matters, this Committee will help improve your knowledge of the intellectual property field and enhance your practice. We also offer to our members the opportunity to publish articles and present teleconferences. If you have an interest in publishing an article or presenting a teleconference, please contact us. Throughout the year we will notify our members of new content and opportunities through our website, newsletter and a small number of email communications. Thank you for stopping by our webpage, we hope you will decide to join us.

- August 8: Speed Networking Event with IP Section Leaders

Building upon the success of the Conference Connections, which debuted at this year’s ABA-IPL Spring Conference, we are continuing to develop the program by planning a networking event for the upcoming ABA Annual Meeting. This is not just another networking event. This unique event will give you the opportunity to network with several of the ABA-IPL Section leaders, including: our Chair, past Chairs, Officers, members of editorial boards, and who are all top IP professionals. In a fast-pace setting, you will have the chance to connect with several lawyers eager to meet the future of IP and give you guidance from their years of experience.Coffee and snacks will be served promoting a relaxed setting of chatting and getting to know each other in few minutes or less.
