News and Announcements

Message form the Chair

We are currently seeking proposals for webinars relating to the various fields of intellectual property and internet law for the 2011-2012 membership year. This is an exciting opportunity for you to actively participate in the ABA, gain knowledge and professional exposure, and add to your resume?all at the same time! If there is a topic that interests you, that you have written about or that you're considering writing about, this is a chance to leverage your hard work. The Intellectual Property and Internet Law Committee has previously conducted webinars on topics including unintentional copyright infringement in mergers and acquisitions, trademarks in social media, and Markman hearings. What topic interests you? We'd love to learn from you about your niche area of interest and/or practice, an interesting IP or Internet law issue, recent developments in IP or Internet case law or legislation, or other topics relating to patent, trademark, copyright, industrial design, trade dress, trade secret, domain name, privacy or publicity law.

If you?ve never presented a webinar before, this is your chance to try something new. We are happy to provide you with guidance and feedback in developing your presentation, and to help you through the technical aspects of presenting a webinar. In addition, all webinar contributors are invited to work with the Intellectual Property and Internet Law Committee to turn a webinar idea into a 101 or 201 article and/or a panel presentation.

Please e-mail Vice Chair Jessica Godell at jgodell@nealmcdevitt.com with your proposed topics or any questions you may have about presenting a webinar for the ABA.
