Welcome to the Women in the Profession Committee (WIPC), one of the largest YLD committees!
The WIPC concentrates on securing the full and equal participation of women in the ABA, the legal profession and the justice system. In particular, the WIPC focuses on multiple concerns of women either under the age of 36 or in practice five years or less. The WIPC's mission is to advance these women's interests by being a voice for their concerns and by forging coalitions with other groups to advance shared objectives.
WIPC offers its members access to various programs, including live speakers/panels, teleconferences and podcasts, nationwide exposure to events, writing/publishing opportunities, social media and opportunities to network and to get involved in the ABA.

Negotiating Alternative Work Arrangements Teleconference (download now)
Teleconference Materials (PDF)
Many attorneys wish to have better work/life balance, especially while their children are young, but they also want to keep their careers on track. Some law firms and companies already have part-time schedules, but many of them end up not truly being part-time, resulting in earning a part-time salary while working 40 hours each week. The purpose of this teleconference is to assist attorneys in the negotiation of alternative work arrangements to provide better work/life balance while maintaining growth opportunities in one's career. Please join us for a discussion from both a law firm perspective and an in-house perspective.
A recording has been emailed to the WIPC members.
Please email Chair Sakima Kelly at sakima.kelly@gmail.com if you would like specific topics addressed or have any questions.
