Ready or not, ART issues must be either ruled out or appropriately addressed in every family law case. This program will make the general family lawyer aware of common, everyday ways ART law intersects with a general family law practice. It will make clear how ART law has raised unique and relevant issues that must be routinely identified and resolved by the family lawyer in representing clients in drafting antenuptial agreements, dissolution of marriage proceedings, adoptions, and paternity cases. It will explain both the questions that family lawyers should ask their clients and that clients will (inevitably) ask their family lawyers. It will also provide a framework for family lawyers to successfully answer their clients' questions.
