Chair, Charles Baker's Conference Invitation
Dear Colleague:
You are warmly invited to the 9th Annual Summer IPL Conference of the American Bar Association Section of Intellectual Property Law, which will be held June 26-30 at the historic, centrally located, and newly-refurbished Loews Philadelphia Hotel.
Philadelphia is a great place for you and your family to visit, and the Section is planning a wide variety of social events and tours that take advantage of the unique and varied museums, historic sites and parks in and around Philadelphia. The mixture will include programs for members, their spouses, guests and children. From lower-priced, closer half-day tours, to longer excursions outside the city limits, there will be something to interest everyone.
The educational programs will feature current, important and developing topics, presented by leading, well-informed speakers. The principal Business Session will include reports from the Section's substantive committees for analysis, debate and adoption of resolutions that will be the foundation of Section and ABA positions, Congressional testimony, and statements to the PTO and international IP bodies on intellectual property law issues for years to come. CLE credit will be available for both the educational programs and the Business Session. There will also be committee meetings, social events, exhibits, sporting tournaments and other networking and small-group educational opportunities
This year we are welcoming the participation of the following local IP law organizations and the International Bar Association. Their members may register for the conference for the same registration fee as ABA IP Law Section members.
Philadelphia Intellectual Property Law Association
Pennsylvania Bar Association Intellectual Property Law Section
The Intellectual Property Law Section of the Delaware State Bar Association
New Jersey Intellectual Property Law Association
New Jersey State Bar Association Intellectual Property Law Section
Pittsburgh Intellectual Property Law Association
Intellectual Property and Entertainment Committee of the International Bar Association Section of Business Law
Philadelphia promises to be a popular location, as our Summer IPL Conference continues to grow. We expect this meeting to attract a larger share of the Section's 21,000 members than any previous conference. We urge you to mark your calendars, register early, and make your airline and hotel reservations now.
Susan and I look forward to seeing all of you in Philadelphia June 26-30.
Charlie Baker
