Welcome Reception / Buffet Dinner at the Ferry Building
(Included in registration fee.)
The Section will host the annual Welcome Reception at the Ferry Building. With its dramatic 240-foot tall clock tower, modeled after the 12th century bell tower of the cathedral in Seville, Spain, the Ferry Building has been the icon of San Francisco’s waterfront for more than 100 years. The second floor reception space is open and airy, revealing the architecture of this historic landmark building. The high ceilings, open views to the artisan food vendors below and the tile floor with a striking mosaic of the Great Seal of the State of California, makes it a striking and wonderful site for this special Welcome Reception. Guests will enjoy music, cocktails and a sumptuous spread of cuisine with a San Francisco flair. All are invited to attend and meet and greet other Section members at this enjoyable evening. On a pleasant evening, the Ferry Building is an enjoyable 8 block walk from The Palace Hotel. Trolley shuttles will be running back and forth between the hotel and the Ferry Building throughout the event.

An Evening at Teatro Zinzanni
(Tickets required - $75)
Attendees and their guests will have the opportunity to enjoy a special evening at Teatro Zinzanni, a blend of circus arts and exquisite culinary experiments. The night begins with a trip to San Francisco’s waterfront, where the masterminds behind this incredible venue have erected a huge tent, the only edifice that could properly contain the antics that await. From the outside, the tent looks mysterious and exotic, and the impression doesn’t really change once one steps inside. Guests will be seated at the formally laid tables already set with hors d’oeuvres. The craziness begins at the minute they sit down. Performers, including opera singers, a contortionist, cabaret, and dancers will dazzle everyone with their magic. Guests will have a choice between a vegetarian or meat entrée, and they will enjoy their five-course, five-star cuisine as the music and madness take place all around them. From hors d’oeuvres to dessert, this is one of the most delightful evenings in San Francisco.
