Description:
Degree: The curriculum provides students with a general background in the major fields of law practiced in law offices, and trains students to prepare the documents involved, such as probate forms, title searches and closing documents, pleadings and discovery proceedings, legal memoranda, and corporate filings and minutes, thereby permitting an attorney to perform legal services more efficiently and economically. Skillful use of the Engligh language and a high level of verbal competence are essential for completion of the Legal Assistant program. Successful completion of the program leads to an AS degree.
Certificate: The certificate program has been prepared for and is open to those who have a bachelor's or an associate's degree with a minimum of 18 liberal arts credits. The program consists of the Legal Assistant courses and Business Law I and II. Successful completion of the program leads to a certificate of 30 credit hours of college study.

Description: Quinnipiac's BA degree with a major in Legal Studies is designed to provide our graduates with the full set of knowledge and skills needed to be successful in the rapidly evolving paralegal profession. The classic values of a liberal arts education are added to the critical thinking skills of the legal profession, producing graduates who possess both the traditional breadth of understanding of persons educated in the liberal arts, and the depth of paralegal studies. Description: The HCW Paralegal Program at the University of Hartford is designed to meet the needs of part-time working students. Classes are scheduled in the evening and on weekends. The Program enjoys an excellent reputation in the greater Hartford marketplace and assists students in job placement through internships, job counseling, and a strong network of alumnae in the area. The Certificate program can be custom-designed by practice area, including Nurse Paralegal and Nurse Legal Consultant.

Description: UNH's interdisciplinary program provides students with an understanding of fundamental principles of law and prepares them to pursue broad career opportunities in the paralegal profession, law school, or graduate school. Development of critical thinking, analytic writing, and oral communication abilities is emphasized, along with practical paralegal skills. A two-semester internship for BS degree seniors provides on-the-job experience, enhancing employment opportunities. Concentration electives allow students to focus on areas of interest. International legal study abroad is available at partnered English-speaking universities. Extensive extra-curricular opportunities include the active Legal Society and Mock Trial Team. Continuing career placement assistance is provided for graduates.
