Whether you have a college degree, or no college experience, Beckfield College provides a legal studies program to fit your needs. Beckfield's campus library contains abundant legal resources for complete research. Additionally, all paralegal students have access to Lexis/Nexis and Westlaw online research tools. In addition to endowing students with the legal knowledge to understand the various areas of law, our program provides instruction in practical, legal-career skills used by professionals every day. Description: Founded in 1976, the program was approved by the ABA in 1980. EKU offers both a BA (4 yr) and AA (2 yr) degree. Courses are offered days and evenings and are taught by attorneys. All majors complete an internship in a law office. The program is a charter member of the American Association for Paralegal Education and the Lambda Epsilon Chi paralegal honor society. It has an active Student Paralegal Assocaition. Graduates work as paralegals and law-related professionals, and can go on to law schools and various graduate schools.

Description: The baccalaureate degree program emphasizes opportunities for students to have actual experience working with attorneys and clients. Students are encouraged to assist in legal clinics working with local attorneys and the program’s attorney-professors. Every student also is required to complete a 120 hour paralegal internship working in a public or private law office, or the courts. The program combines the advantages of a liberal arts education with the development of legal knowledge and skills necessary to assist attorneys in law offices, corporations, and government agencies. It prepares graduates to immediately enter the legal field as a professional paralegal.

Description: The Institute for Legal Studies at Sullivan University offers programs of study that lead to challenging and rewarding careers as paralegals.
