Message from the Chairs

We’re excited to announce our new structure and invite you to become involved. We have four new subcommittees. The first subcommittee is Content. The Content Subcommittee is responsible for the development of all committee content including the website, newsletter, and other publications. We will hold bimonthly phone calls for members of that subcommittee. The second subcommittee is Programming, which is responsible for the development of all of our programs and training, including our annual spring teleconference and programs at conferences such as the Section of Litigation Annual Conference or the National Association of Counsel for Children Annual Conference. We will develop a call schedule for that subcommittee in the next few months. The third subcommittee focuses on Education and has been active for several years. This subcommittee is currently working on several projects, including the development of a model school code. Lastly, we have a Right to Counsel Subcommittee, which works on the Committee’s initiative toward instituting a right to counsel for children in abuse and neglect cases. We currently hold monthly strategy calls, and new subcommittee members will be invited to participate. We are starting with these four subcommittees but are interested in starting others and would love to hear from you about your interests and what you would like to see.
