Message from the Chairs

We appreciate your interest in the ABA Energy Litigation Committee. Feel free to take advantage of our legal updates, committee activities, and timely news. Energy—in all its forms—generates challenging legal issues that impact all aspects of our lives from the price at the pump all the way to the provision of sustainable energy sources for the world. The Energy Litigation Committee strives to provide content that highlights these key energy legal issues.

We are pleased to announce some of this year’s benefits to our growing membership.

Section Annual Conference
The Section of Litigation will host its Annual CLE Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona, April 9–11, 2014, at the Phoenician Resort. The conference is the premier networking, learning, and business-development opportunity offered by the Section of Litigation. The Energy Litigation Committee will cosponsor a program at the conference entitled “Effective Mediation & Settlement Techniques: How Do You Convince the Other Side It’s Wrong?” We look forward to seeing you in Scottsdale.

Committee Networking Events
The Energy Litigation Committee holds quarterly telephone conferences to discuss committee business and invites all members to participate. Look for a listserv with all the details for the calls. At the Section of Litigation Annual Conference, we will have several networking and business-development events for our members. Additionally, we will hold a business meeting and lunch for committee members to discuss plans for the remainder of the year and plans for the upcoming bar year. Join us and help shape the future of the committee.

Joint CLE Program
The Energy Litigation Committee looks forward to working again with the Institute for Energy Law to cosponsor and promote the 12th Annual Energy Litigation Conference in Houston, Texas, on November 7, 2013. The conference serves as the premier gathering for energy practitioners in virtually all fields and attracts a large number of committee members. Committee members receive discounted tuition to the conference, which has served as an informal social, networking, and business-development event. Please join us in Houston.
