Young Advocates Committee
The Young Advocates Committee (YAC) serves as a resource for young litigators in their respective practices and within the Section of Litigation. Our mission is threefold: (1) to provide continuing education and discussion on issues affecting the profession, and younger litigators in particular, and assist in the development of practice skills; (2) provide networking opportunities with other YAC and Section of Litigation members; and (3) serve as a gateway to other Section of Litigation committees and opportunities, including promoting the involvement of diverse young lawyers who practice in a variety of settings. The YAC recognizes and celebrates the future of the profession and the Section of Litigation: the young litigator.
The National Outstanding Young Lawyer Award recognizes an ABA young lawyer in good standing who exhibits: professional excellence; service to the profession and the bar; service to the community; and/or a reputation for or the advancement of legal ethics and professional responsibility. The Section of Litigation may nominate one candidate for this award, and the Young Advocates Committee seeks help with identifying candidates. If you have any outstanding young lawyers in your committee, whether in leadership roles or simply engaged members, YAC would like to consider them. Please review the eligibility requirements and nomination process. Nominations should be sent via email directly to Adrian Felix, Brandon Smith, and Mor Wetzler, Cochairs of YAC. In your email, please address how the nominee meets the selection criteria. The Young Advocates Committee cochairs will review the nominations and recommend candidates for Council to nominate a young lawyer on behalf of the Section. Nomination emails accepted March 1–25, 2016.

Message from the Chairs
Welcome all current and new members. We are looking forward to all of the exciting things that our hard-working and creative subcommittee cochairs have planned, including excellent content online and in our quarterly newsletter, fantastic in-person and teleconference programs throughout the year, and new audio recordings for the Section’s Sound Advice library.
We strive to serve as a home for young litigators in the Section of Litigation, with resources covering your interests in mentoring, leadership, networking, business development, and litigation skills while ensuring our ongoing interest in diversity of perspectives. We will continue to provide information about the materials and committees available throughout the Section and to continue to make available the materials that you need and want.
Please remember that this is your committee, and we welcome your input, suggestions, and creative ideas. We want to hear from you! Stay in touch with us and follow our programs live-tweeted on Twitter. If you would like to become actively involved in the YAC, please reach out to any of our committee cochairs (Brandon, Adrian, or Mor), who will be happy to suggest ways you can get involved, speak, or publish.
In the meantime, be sure to check our committee website frequently for the most up-to-date information about Section events and programs of particular interest to young lawyers. If you have any suggestions for the committee, or any questions, please call on us.
