A Message from Your 15th Circuit Governor
All law students from Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, and Arizona are invited to attend the ABA Law Student Division 2011 Spring Meeting and Governor Election to be held Saturday, February 26, 2011 at the University of New Mexico School of Law in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Join your fellow law students for a weekend of law, leadership, and service.
There is no registration fee to attend, but the benefits of participating in the Spring Meeting are invaluable:
- Take home valuable tips and strategies for planning and implementing your goals for your future career;
- Learn from practicing attorneys about how to thrive in the legal profession;
- Discover strategies for cultivating your leadership skills through practical approaches and tips from student leaders and experienced attorneys; and
- Begin establishing relationships within the legal profession with members of the bar from every practice setting, both veteran and new to the profession, that will prove invaluable to you not only now but in the future, and on a professional, and many times personal level. Many members have commented that the relationships they established during their time in the Law Student Division have resulted in lifetime friendships and professional collaborations.

Who Should Attend This Meeting?
The Spring Meeting is designed to bring law students together to exchange ideas and develop camaraderie. If you are an outgoing circuit member who will be graduating soon, the Spring Meeting will provide you with an opportunity to share your ideas with law students new to the law school experience. For those of you who are in the midst of your first or second year of law school, you will find that the Spring Meeting will provide you with a tremendous amount of information for beginning or adjusting your legal education strategy.
You should attend the Spring Meeting if you are a law student interested in:
- Discussing important issues facing law students and legal education;
- Learning how to get the most from your legal education;
- Building a network to launch your career after graduation; and
- Obtaining an inside look at the current scope of the legal job market.
Registration
The 15th Circuit Spring Meeting and Governor Election will be held Saturday, February 26, 2011 at the University of New Mexico School of Law in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The exact meeting room location will be announced as soon as confirmation is received from the law school.
Advance Registration
Step 1: Complete the registration form no later than Friday, February 18, 2011. You will receive an automatic confirmation that your registration has been received. If you are unable to register by February 18, you may register on-site at the meeting. If you decide to register when you get to the meeting, please be sure to have your registration form completed before you arrive and your ABA membership number readily available in order to expedite the process. An onsite registration form will be posted at this location after February 19 for your convenience.
Step 2: Once you arrive at the meeting, you should stop at the registration table to sign-in, pick-up your badges and a final schedule of events before proceeding to the meeting room. Registration for the meeting will be open during the following hours. The exact locations will be announced as soon as confirmation is received from the law school.

On-Site Registration
Meeting registration will open at 5:00pm on Friday, February 25, 2011 and at 8:00am on Saturday, February 26, 2011. The exact location will be posted at this location as soon as confirmation is received from the law school. Attendees should stop at the registration table to sign-in and pick up their badge and a final program.
If you are unable to complete the Advance Registration Form before the February 18 deadline, you may register on site at the meeting. To register at the meeting, please print out the onsite registration form (posted after February 18) and have it completed before you arrive in order to expedite the check-in procedure.

The 15th Circuit Spring Meeting and Governor Election will be held Saturday, February 26, 2011 at the University of New Mexico School of Law in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Voting and Elections
Election of the Circuit Governor
Certified Delegates (SBA Presidents, ABA Representatives or their proxies) who wish to participate in the election of the 15th Circuit Governor must be certified in order to vote. Please check in with the ABA Law Student Division Election Proctor as soon as you arrive at the meeting in order to be certified. Election results will be announced at the conclusion of the meeting on Saturday.

Who Votes for the New Governor?
The primary ABA Representative and the SBA President (hereafter referred to as Delegates) from each ABA-approved law school who are current members in good standing of the ABA Law Student Division (a member in good standing is one who has paid his/her 2010-2011 ABA Law Student Division dues in full) are eligible for certification to participate in the election. A principle delegate who is not an ABA Law Student Division member, but wishes to vote in the election must join the ABA in order to be certified to vote. Otherwise, he/she may proxy his/her vote to another law student from his/her law school, provided that law student is a fully paid member of the ABA Law Student Division. Proxies must present signed, written authorization from the principle delegate, preferably on school letterhead stationery, in order to be certified. See complete proxy instructions

I, {principle delegate’s full name}, {title: ABA Representative or SBA President} of the {full official name of law school} and a principal delegate in the Assembly of the American Bar Association Law Student Division, in accordance with ABA Law Student Division Governing Rules, hereby designate as my proxy {name of student to whom proxy is being given}, to cast my vote(s) at the 15th Circuit Spring Meeting and Governor Election, to be held on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at the University of New Mexico School of Law in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

NOTE TO DELEGATES: In order to vote in the election, SBA Presidents, ABA Representatives or their proxies must be ABA Law Student Division members in good standing. An ABA member in good standing is one who has paid his/her 2010-2011 ABA Law Student Division dues in full. If you wish to join the ABA Law Student Division or bring your member status up-to-date, please visit MyABA or contact the ABA Service Center at 800.285.2221.
ABA Rep Funds
The ABA Law Student Division is unable to provide funding to law students for travel to the Spring Meeting. However, ABA Representatives attending their Circuit’s Spring Meeting may request Rep Funds (if available) to offset some of their travel expenses. Representative Funds are limited in size and all reimbursement requests are processed on a first-come, first- served basis.
To be eligible to receive Rep Funds to attend the Spring Meeting, you must be the primary ABA Representative at your school and the application must be received by the Secretary-Treasurer and Division Director three weeks prior to the date of the Spring Meeting you are attending. The amount of funding Representatives are eligible to request is based on available funds for your school.
