2011 Circuit Spring Meetings and Elections
Meeting Dates, Locations and Circuit Governor Candidates
Each of the Law Student Division's 15 circuits host a Spring Meeting to include the election of the Circuit Governor. These Spring Meetings provide an opportunity for students to network, attend substantive programming and participate in the election of the Circuit Governor. If you are interested in becoming involved in the activities of the ABA Law Student Division, attending your Circuit's Spring Meeting is the perfect venue for you to experience first-hand what the ABA Law Student Division can offer.

Who Should Attend the Spring Meeting?
The Spring Meeting is designed to bring law students together to exchange ideas and develop camaraderie. If you are an outgoing circuit member who will be graduating soon, the Spring Meeting will provide you with an opportunity to share your ideas with law students new to the law school experience. For those of you who are in the midst of your first or second year of law school, you will find that the Spring Meeting will provide you with a tremendous amount of information for beginning or adjusting your legal education strategy.
You should attend the Spring Meeting if you are a law student leaders interested in:
- Discussing important issues facing law students and legal education;
- Learning how to get the most from your legal education;
- Building a network to launch your career after graduation; and
- Obtaining an inside look at the current scope of the legal job market.
Voting and Elections
The ABA Law Student Division Circuit Governors will be elected during the Circuit Spring Meeting and Elections by the Delegates in that circuit. The delegates are the SBA President and the primary ABA Representative from each of the ABA-approved law schools in that circuit, who are members of the ABA Law Student Division and who have reported their status to the Division.

What Circuit Am I In?
The Law Student Division is comprised of fifteen circuits (not to be confused with the federal judicial circuit system) to better serve the needs of students on a regional, as well as national level.
- 1st: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
- 2nd: New York.
- 3rd: Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
- 4th: North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia (except George Mason University-11th Circuit), and West Virginia.
- 5th: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Puerto Rico, and Tennessee.
- 6th: Kentucky, Michigan, and Ohio.
- 7th: Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin.
- 8th: Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
- 9th: Southern California and Hawaii (see the 14th Circuit for Northern California).
- 10th: Arkansas, Kansas, and Oklahoma.
- 11th: District of Columbia and George Mason University.
- 12th: Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington.
- 13th: Louisiana and Texas.
- 14th: Northern California and Nevada (see the 9th Circuit for Southern California).
