Commercial Transportation Litigation Committee

Commercial Transportation Litigation Committee

The Commercial Transportation Litigation Committee examines the liabilities and obligations of all forms of commercial carriers and includes regulation and accident issues. The Committee provides an opportunity to meet and exchange ideas and tactics with other professionals regularly working in the transportation industry.

Message From The Chair

It is an extreme honor to be serving as the Chair of the Commercial Transportation Litigation Committee for the 2009-2010 year. This is a very active committee and one in which you can become involved in immediately and be considered for leadership roles within a very short period of time.

I want to thank the outgoing Chair, Blair Jones, on a great year. The Committee sponsored the Transportation MegaConference in New Orleans in March, 2009 and was honored at the ABA annual meeting with an award for women involvement for the 2008-2009 fiscal year. The Committee also was the primary sponsor of a program at the 2009 annual meeting on Developing Technology In On-Board Data Recording For Motor Vehicles.

We recently published a 50 state compendium on Comparative/Contributory Negligence and Joint and Several Liability and are publishing another compendium on the particular state requirements for the settlement of minors’ claims and lawsuits. We are also putting together another Newsletter with cutting edge articles regarding the transportation industry. If you have an article that you would like to be considered for publication, please email me.

If you would like to become active in this committee, please call me at (312) 444-2479 or email me at jaf@cassiday.com. I look forward to hearing from you.

Jim Foster
