2011 Emerging Issues in Motor Vehicle Product Liability Litigation

Mark your calendars for March 30th – April 1st and plan to attend the premiere national CLE in motor vehicle litigation. This program, celebrating its 21st year, will take place at the beautiful Arizona Biltmore Resort and Spa. Whether you represent defendants, plaintiffs or work in-house, this is a must-attend event if your practice includes motor vehicle related litigation or products liability law.

This program will feature leading figures from the government, judiciary, industry, in-house counsel, and master trial and appellate lawyers covering the issues that are on the cutting edge of what is happening in both the industry and the courtroom. Among the faculty, NHTSA’s current Chief Counsel, O. Kevin Vincent, will address the current state of NHTSA regulation and enforcement and preview upcoming developments. NTSB Member Mark Rosekind will discuss the latest on distracted driving and fatigue issues. Malcolm Wheeler, the lawyer who helped pioneer the current preemption framework, will address the preemption landscape in the wake of Williamson v. Mazda. The program will also feature senior in-house counsel for manufacturers such as General Motors, Nissan, Hyundai, Kia, Suzuki, TRW, Magna, ArvinMeritor, Takata, Michelin, Goodyear, Continental, Bridgestone, and Tyco Electronics.

Our other panels of experienced counsel and experts will address recent developments in class actions, handling government investigations, litigating brake pad asbestos cases, trial related topics, and technical areas involving accident and biomechanical reconstruction, component-specific issues such as side airbags and curtains, and much more!

As a special treat this year, on March 30th, Exponent is opening the doors to its Phoenix facility for a state-of-the-art demonstration. Exponent will provide round-trip transportation from the Biltmore and lunch. This special event is open to all program attendees, however, because this is a secured government location, RSVPs are required by March 15, 2011, and should be directed to Amir Nassihi at anassihi@shb.com or 415-544-1949.

In addition to the exceptional program and fantastic locale, the TIPS Toxic Torts and Environmental Law Program will be held concurrently at the Arizona Biltmore. This allows you double the networking opportunities at the joint cocktail reception on Thursday evening for all attendees.

We are offering a $100 discount for anyone attending both programs. Firms that register two or more lawyers for this program and the Toxic Torts and Environmental Law Program will receive a $100 discount for each registrant. As an added bonus, TIPS members registered for either program may purchase the materials for the other program at the substantially reduced rate of $85.

Be sure to set March 30th - April 1st aside. We look forward to seeing you there!
